Generation Z, the first to grow up with ubiquitous social media, faces unique challenges that significantly impact their mental health. Studies have shown a strong correlation between excessive social media use and increased anxiety levels among Gen Z individuals. The constant exposure to curated, often unrealistic portrayals of life can lead to feelings of inadequacy and fear of missing out (FOMO). Additionally, the pressure to maintain a perfect online persona and the prevalence of cyberbullying contribute to heightened stress and anxiety. Developing healthy social media habits is crucial for Gen Z, and society must provide supportive environments that promote mental well-being in the digital age.
