Operation Restoration!

Remember when I introduced this Avocado  tree a few months ago (On facebook)? I got suggestions on how to bring it back to life .I tried none!

I also got several offers from landscapers passing by;offers ranging from 50 to 150 dollars to cut it down. They all said it was dead and would Never come back. But I refused!

During Hurricane Matthew I thought it would surely get blown down in the”winds”, but it stood strong.

Fast forward a few months, look closely…what do you see? Life!! The tree is beginning to restore itself.

We should all be like this tree. Not only with ourselves but with each other. If I had follow the many suggestions to cut it down I never would have known that it was capable of being “restored”. For months after being struck by lightening this tree stood strong and proud.

The other trees in the neighborhood talked and laughed at it, but it never wavered. It continued to smile in the face of criticisms and adversities…all the while working on a master plan. As human beings we are so quick to give up on relationships, jobs, and ourselves because we are not patient enough. Someone disappoints us and instead of repairing or restoring the relationship we throw it away. It’s time we start investing time and patience in things that are dead! Now don’t get me wrong…NOT ALL DEAD things should be revived…but the ones with potential should be given a fighting chance to thrive.

So that exercise routine you gave up so quickly,  try again. That college/job application that you put down because you thought you were not good enough…pick it up. Whatever it is…try again!

You are not dead…but being restored!

Thank you Avocado tree…I look forward to eating the deliciousness that you once produced.
